Subeersiva
Branding Identity / Packaging
Brand identity and packaging design for an independent craft brewery challenging the conventions of the Colombian beer market.
A rebellious identity for craft beer
(Overview)
Subeersiva is an independent craft brewery entering the Colombian market at a time when artisanal beer represented a small part of overall beer consumption. The brand was created in response to an increasingly homogeneous craft beer market, with the intention of offering consumers new flavours and experiences.
The challenge was to create an identity that felt independent, provocative and underground while maintaining a connection with the visual language of traditional German beer brands. The concept was built around the idea of rebellion, using the Molotov cocktail as a symbol of revolution and transforming its flame into a hop, directly connecting the idea of resistance with the product.
The resulting identity combines a distinctive symbol, strong typography and a defined colour system, which were extended into the design of a Lager beer label, a can prototype and point-of-sale advertising pieces. The project also included brand guidelines defining the logo, proportions, colour, typography and applications, creating a consistent visual language across the brand's different touchpoints.
(Outcome)
The project translated Subeersiva's rebellious positioning into a complete visual system and a series of physical brand applications. The identity was carried through the Lager beer label, can prototype and point-of-sale pieces, allowing the concept to move beyond the logo and become part of the product and its environment.
